Overview

At Covenant Eyes, we create products that empower individuals to live with integrity and freedom. Product Designers at this level help define and improve member experiences across our mobile apps, web platforms, onboarding, reporting, and habit-support tools. Designers contribute not only by crafting exceptional interactions, but also by shaping the strategy and systems that power long-term behavioral change.

As a Product Designer III, you balance craft and leadership. You think systematically, act strategically, and collaborate cross-functionally to elevate the entire product experience across native apps as well as web-based interactions. You’re fluent in research-informed design, aware of ethical implications, and comfortable working in ambiguity. Your work is grounded in business context, user needs, and technical feasibility.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with researchers to plan and conduct generative and evaluative research.
  • Analyze user behavior, needs, and mental models to guide product decisions.
  • Identify key moments in the user journey—especially across onboarding, install, and usage cycles.
  • Solve system-level problems and lead the design of end-to-end flows, from install and free onboarding to subscription and support experiences.
  • Deliver design solutions that balance usability, accessibility, business goals, and platform constraints.
  • Produce user journeys, wireframes, prototypes, and final UI with clear rationale and intent.
  • Participate in or lead shaping cycles alongside Product Managers and Engineers, contributing to problem definition, and solution.
  • Drive alignment with stakeholders on outcomes and success metrics, not just features.
  • Facilitate collaborative design sessions and present work with clarity and humility.
  • Contribute to improving design processes, design systems, and documentation practices.
  • Mentor less experienced designers and provide thoughtful feedback in critiques.
  • Influence how UX integrates into the product development process and partner with Product, Engineering, and CX.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of UX/product design experience with a portfolio showcasing shipped work across multiple platforms.
  • Experience designing for mobile (iOS/Android), preferably with service-based or behavior-change products.
  • High proficiency with design tools (Figma).
  • Experience working in Agile or Shape Up environments with cross-functional teams.
  • Deep understanding of accessibility, usability, and inclusive design practices.
  • Humility, empathy, and curiosity when working in personal and sensitive domains.
  • If a remote employee, you are willing and able to travel to Global Headquarters in Owosso, MI several times a year. Due to this, you must maintain a current, valid driver license and personal automobile insurance. For on-site employees, no travel is required.
  • The majority of your time will be spent at a desk using a phone, computer and monitor, and general office equipment. You may be required to reach with hands and arms; sit; stand; talk and hear; use your hands to finger, handle, or feel.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong grasp of UX writing and microcopy—you understand how words shape experiences, support behavior change, and convey empathy in sensitive contexts.
  • Familiarity with designing experiences that depend on device-level integrations (e.g., screen time APIs, VPN frameworks, app usage tracking), and collaborating closely with developers to align design with platform capabilities and limitations.
